DELIRIOUS? BEHIND-THE-SCENES.
This shoot was good times! My friend Randy Warren asked me to run camera with him for a day following the band Delirious around as they prep’d to shoot their NOW IS THE TIME! LIVE DVD at Willow. We drove to meet them at the airport, only to discover that their tour bus had broken down and we had to wait with all the gear at OHare until alternative transport arrived. Anyway, it was fun to chat with the guys a little bit. The only complaint I have is about having peanuts thrown at me… but at least they apologized.

This was a fun little project I was able to direct for the 2006 Willow Creek Student Ministries Conference. The concept was to show the impact a driven person can have on those around them. One scene that didn’t make the final cut involved a blind homeless man. We shot it and the footage looked fine but having the runner stop to drop a coin in the cup really broke the flow of the edit. The cool thing about it was that the person we cast as the homeless man wasn’t an actor ( he was a friend of a cast member who wanted to give him a job for the day) so we were able to feed him and talk for a while after his scene. The crew actually pitched in a bunch of cash to help him out as well. It was cool to be able to serve him like that even though those shots ended up on the cutting room floor.
